Glassware should only be washed by hand, and should not be pre-soaked in hot water. Due to the different expansion and contraction rates of the crystal and pewter, prolonged emmersion in hot water will weakend the bond between the pieces. Match pewter is lead-free, FDA approved and completely food safe. Pewter tarnishes very slowly and requires almost no maintenance. Should you want to polish your pewter almost any polish will do but do read the directions before using. Match recommends Cape Cod Metal Polish.
